Reviewing the Xorg code changes between 21.1.3 and 21.1.4 I do think bug
1999213 is most likely where this was fixed. The fix for bug 1999213
does also appear to fix the crashing line of code we have here in
FreezeThisEventIfNeededForSyncGrab.

Hi! For now I did the following "trick": I added needed repositories
from the "kinetic" into /etc/source.list and using aptitude installed
all needed dependencies. I've been using it for some time now -- no
crashes so far.
I sincerely hope that Ubuntu 22.04.2 will contain this bug fix, because

The fix is seemingly in Xorg but it's a complex piece of software with
multiple packages and dependencies. Trying to build Xorg yourself will
almost certainly create bigger bugs than this one.
I expect jammy will get Xorg 21.1.4 or later within weeks or months but

Can't I just update xorg package somehow (because it is not in the
official builds repository for jammy)? Or you think that this problem
might be fixed not in xorg, but somewhere else?

If we don't know exactly what fixed it then the only supported solutions
are:
(a) Don't use Xorg. Select a desktop environment that supports Wayland
instead (like regular Ubuntu using GNOME); or
(b) Upgrade to Lubuntu 22.10 where Xorg appears to be fixed.

But how do I update to that without building xorg from source myself?

Thanks. This seems to be the 5th most common Xorg crash in Ubuntu 22.04
but it doesn't happen at all in 22.10. So I am thinking it got fixed in
Xorg 21.1.4
