I have exactly the same problem with Ubuntu 11.04.
However, my notebook do not uses a ATI Graphics Card, so I think that it is not
a duplicated bug.

found my problem, which was not related to this bug: my usb disk did not
contain the hidden directory ".disk", which is used to check the disks
contents.

Downloaded Kubuntu 9.10-beta (32 bit) on 8th Oct. Used 'Create USB

My system is also starting up just fine using the AMD64 beta release.
All the issues I had with the alpha 6 release seem to have been

i tried the beta desktop live iso (amd64)

I have tried the September 24 snapshot per Robbie Williamson's request.
It does make a difference but not in the way I would like to see. The

The original reporter says that Alpha 5 fails to boot for them as well,
so it has to be unrelated to any boot migration changes.
