Hi Rovanion The default settings has been set by the upstream by a lot of thought process. The default behavior or settings has to such that it covers a majority of touchpads without any extra configuration and as of I know there are many laptops that has a touchpad without multitouch support.

Yes the scrolling areas on my touchpad, even tough they are just areas as defined by the software, are correctly functioning. This is a design-bug as the original description says, a request to change the default behavior. Please do change to the correct label if it is so that I mislabeled it.
