Does this bug still exist in Lucid (10.04) or any of the following releases?
if still exists, please open your terminal and run: "apport-collect 585008"
(without quotes) to update bug logs that were cached from the date of report.

Workarounds seems to be:
1)
CTRL+ALT+F2 and then CTRL+ALT+F7
This sould make it work until next reboot
