Three years after being reported, this bug still remains unchanged in Ubuntu,
preventing many users from install the system.
Simply boot from live cd

nVidia C67 GeForce 7150M / nForce 630M
I am on Natty final on a HP Pavilion DV2840se with a geforce 7150 630m
video card and the same issue is present. The card detect the TV OUT as
connected so it keep the resolution below the default for my laptop.
I configured nouveau.tv_disable=1 in my kernel not ir start in the
correct resolution
I have the same graphic card, and I have the exact same problem in
Ubuntu 10.10, and also 11.04 beta. Will this be fixed for 11.04 final?

Still about the Natty beta... I tried to change the resolution to 1280x800, but
it wasn't available on the monitor preferences window. To enable it, I had to
uncheck the same image on all monitors box - then all the resolutions are
available. Without unchecking that box, only the resolutions
Ok. So there are two problems in this bug - X starting in 1280x800 by
default, and the 1024x768 resolution not being usable.
X not starting in 1280x800 is due to a mis-detected TV output
connection, resulting in X trying to find a shared mode for the TV
output the laptop display, picking

I am uploading a picture of what happens when you boot this computer off
the Lucid Live CD. It sort of looks like window blinds.
Default should be 1280x800. Other resolutions that do not work properly
under the 'nouveau' driver should not be displayed as possible
resolution, they should
