Sorry about the delayed response. I finally got a chance to test the
latest packages. I tested 2.6.34-020634rc5-generic both with and
without xorg-edgers.
Without xorg-edgers, the system booted really fast! Impressive.
However, when I tried to hibernate, the system immediately locked up
hard and
Good to hear that this is now working with the new kernel. I'm not sure
which of the patches listed in the changelog could have fixed it.
PGTBL_ER being anything but zero means that the graphics hardware has
detected a page table error, i.e. some kind of corruption in the table
that maps GPU
Sorry, my previous optimistic statement seems to have been a bit
premature. X still crashes (sometimes) when coming out of hibernate. I
apologize.

[pineviewgm] X crash after restore from hibernate
It seems that you tested the mainline build of 2.6.35-rc1, while 2.6.35-rc3 was
the newest at that point (now it's -rc4). That could be the source of the other
problems. There was a discussion on the intel-gfx mailing list about
hibernation causing memory corruption on intel hardware last week.
The kernel 2.6.32-23-generic was recently (a few days ago) pushed on
Lucid on since then I haven't had any crashes, despite my attempts to
reproduce it. The problem seems to be solved with that kernel release,
although it would be nice if someone else could verify it.
I'd be happy to try out

Tried new kernel and xorg as requested. Some unusual new startup
messages, such as no compatible bridge window for [mem
0x-0x pref] and some garbage at the top of the screen
during mode switching. X starts up okay, but in low-graphics mode. Since
then I haven't been able to produce
Okay, I will try this in the next few days.

There has been some progress upstream with respect to GPU hangs after
Lucid was released. We would like to find out if this is one of those
bugs or if it is still present in the latest code. In the former case we
may test patches and see if it is possible to find one or more that
fixes the
