Setting to linux (kernel) , Jakob can you test this behaviour on the latest
release (natty) and see if it is sorted out or do you have to blacklist the
tpm_tis.

Here's a workaround that worked for me:
Add
blacklist tpm_tis
to the file /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf

I also have a TravelMate 6592G and a recent Ubuntu 10.4 update cause
this issue. Upon boot, I get the Ubuntu splash screen briefly, then it
goes to the console based login prompt. After a few minutes, X server
finally kicks in and displays the graphical login prompt. Everything is
normal after t
Moreover, due to a update of 10.04 (I don't know which) this problem
appears, not because of the upgrade to 10.10

I have the same probleme. it begin 2 weeks ago on ubuntu 10.04 and after
update to 10.10.

Hi,
I got the same problem with Lucid Lynx. An upgrade to 10.10 did not help.
At the moment is isn't nice waiting about 5 minutes for a reboot.
Does anybody have a hint?

I have got the same problem as Jacob. I am also using a Acer Travel Mate 6592G
running Ubuntu 10.04. I have loaded updates earlier this week and since have
the exact same problem getting the tpm_transmit tpm_send: error 4294967234.
My laptop starts up then gives me a black screen with a logi
