I'm still seeing oddball hangs of the X server which do not hang the
system. However, I'm not sure how to capture the situation since nothing
goes to the logs. I just get messages about the GPU in the tty I'm using to
shut the box down. This differs from the bug I wrote up (644680), but I've

We're closing this bug since it is has been some time with no response from the
original reporter. However, if the issue still exists please feel free to
reopen with the requested information. Also, if you could, please test against
the latest development version of Ubuntu, since this confirms
If I understand this bug report and its dupes, the gpu appears to hang
but the kernel is able to reset it, so it triggers the gpu hang capture
tool, but doesn't actually leave the system in a hung state.
When 10.10 was released, the automatic hang capture tool was turned off,
which explains why th
