disabling capture_before_unmap seems to fix the problem. Here's my quick test: - Open a Chrome window on virtual desktop 1 - Open a terminal on virtual desktop 2 - Do Ctrl-Alt-Shift-Left to move the terminal to desktop 1 With capture_before_unmap enabled the terminal window is not displayed

I've noticed this also on my system (Ubuntu Natty, running Ubuntu Classic no effects without Compiz). I have a Dell 1420 laptop with an Intel video 'card' (Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller according to Hardinfo). I notice it in the classic Gnome panels a lot,
