You filed this bug report against natty, but I see it's still open and
doesn't appear to have much activity recently. So, now that oneiric
is released and stable, this may be a good point for you to upgrade
and re-test if this issue is still present there.

[q45] unlocking screensaver -
Another i hope useful hint. When i leave my computer on a virtual
terminal, and come back then switch to my X session (Alt+F7), everything
works flawlessly. So i always leave it on tty1 for now.

I noticed that when i switch from a virtual terminal (tty1/2..) to my locked
X session, nothing is refreshed at all and i still see my tty session (instead
of this black screen i described) excepted for my X mouse cursor, which i see
and still change if i blindly unlock my session and move it
