One used to be able get a dozen eggs or emergency paper towels, cat food or
something as recently as five years ago.
Sam¹s never closed before 6 PM. It was always open before 8 AM.
Now one never knows when it¹s open.

Applauds to Andy Frischkoff for his comments. City workers (I'm one) are

Actually, I'm not opposed to folks being paid time and a half when they
work more than 40 hours in the week, if they are paid on an hourly basis. I
don't know if that's the case for Streets Dept. employees, at any level.
Seems this is a bad period for losing cats. Just saw a medium sized,
meowing cat by the tattoo parlor at 43rd and Pine. Looked lost and
anxious. Very unusual coloring pattern; mixture of thin patches of
black and medium brown. I was rushing to an appointment, but the cat

Yes, I quite remember when Sam¹s was like that. Even in the 36² snowstorm
of 96, they were open, had fresh bagels, groceries and took MAC cards. It
was a lifesaver especially since most of the city was shut down for nearly a
week.

Sorry for the mistake. The additional old distorted view of the hotel, which I
saw last week, was on page 4 of the current UC Review not last week's DP
coverage.
To add to Ray's timeline about the changing views, make sure to look at the
other view on page 4 in addition to the new one used by
