You can easily change this locally by going to Tools - Configuration
Files - filetype_extensions.conf and adding the text *.tpl; to the
PHP-line. After saving this config-file, Geany should recognize the
filetype correctly automatically.

Thanks it's fixed now..I just did what you suggested, but the changes
doesn't applied right away, it took a lot of open/close activity before
the changes were applied. Anyway, thanks and it works now. One more
thing is, how could I create new file/folder from the sidebar? I don't
see anyway to do
