Although you will lose Buffalo's custom web interface, with
FreeLink/debian you can install Webmin, an open source web-based
configuration utility. And of course, you'll still have the debian
command line interface, and installing packages via "apt-get" is well
worth the loss of Buffalo's configur
I'm afraid I don't know what's going on at this point. Is it
Compress::Zlib or DBD::mysql or both that aren't working at this
point? The error message is a little confusing.
You should be able to re-install the mysql packages from your
Solaris installation media - look in Solaris_10/Product.

I removed all SUNWmysql packages and modified the path variable and the
Makefile looks better now (which I've attached). The module compiles
but with a few warnings.

The module is picking up the bundled mysql like you suspected.
I'd make sure your compiled mysql_config program is first in
your $PATH and then try compiling the DBD-mysql module again.

i did the manual cpan install for GD and know its working.
(ok i stil have pb with the first access to the web page !!)
i have to sudo root to install GD , i don't remember do it for 6.5.0
