There is also the little known command 'sussudio' created by programmer
Phil Collins while working on the No Jacket Required release of the
Genesis distro.

I apologize if this comes across as a dumb question, but are you logged
into your Ubuntu box? Ubuntu doesn't automount external disks until a
user logs into Gnome, so if the computer with SqueezeCenter is just
sitting at a login prompt, your external drive won't be accessible at
all.

Hello,
I'm currently in the throes of moving from XP to Linux (Ubuntu 7.10 and
soon 8.04) and have got most of my core requirements nicely in hand (XP
VPN virtual machines running under VirtualBox etc.).
At the moment I'm dual booting XP and Ubuntu, and one of my final tests
has been to get SC7
Why bother with "sudo su"? Just use "sudo -s". Yeah, it does the same
thing, but there's always more than one way to do it. :)

The ubuntu way is sudo.
I don't like it.
sudo su
gives you 'su' like unix has had for 20 years.
I do an alias of su to 'sudo su'
As they say in perl, there is more than one way to do it.
and it is not 'Sudo' it would be 'sudo'
since case is important
Yes, on Ubuntu you generally want sudo and not su. One of the commands
aubuti gave should work.

Hi all,
I have an iTunes playlist that I would like to transfer to my
Squeezecenter (running on Debian).
I can extract my iTunes playlist as a text file format, so I can easily
write myself a small program to convert it to the necessary file format
for Squeezecenter.
Where can I get the spec fo
wouldn't it be "Sudo"?

Depends on how you installed it, but something like this usually
works:
sudo /etc/init.d/slimserver restart
or
sudo /etc/init.d/squeezecenter restart

I don't know anything about SSODS, but if you are running a terminal
window to the server on your desktop machine, on most linuxes, you can
highlight the text line on your desktop machine
sed -i '/^[^#]/s/mplayer.sh/mplayer-stdout/;/^[^#]/s@/dev/fd/[EMAIL PROTECTED]@'
/volume1/SqueezeCenter/Plugi
I have tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling SqueezeCenter but
the outcome is exactly the same.
When I check the server.log I see these lines which may offer a clue.

To run MusicIP Mixer in the "headless" mode:
1. Install MusicIP Mixer
2. Locate the mmm.ini file in the installation directory, and copy
it to the $HOME/.MusicMagic directory
3. Change any settings desired by editing the mmm.ini file in your
.MusicMagic directory.
4. Run the command: "MusicMagicS
