It is a commandline script that handles everything that is needed to
convert a CD to different formats. You can create FLAC, MP3, OGG and of
course keep the WAV files if needed. I really like it, it is easy to
handle and you can rip CDs synchronous from more than on CD-drive.

I have the same problem with flac flies. Everything worked like a charm

okay!).

I just noticed that while my command line seemed to hang, Softsqueeze
was actually running, and detected by Squeezecenter.
My only remaining problem is to get the sound directed to the
soundcard.

Okay, I just tried a variation. The system is handing, but it seems to
be trying to do something. Here's the command:
java -Dslimserver=127.0.0.1 -Dskins=headless -jar
/usr/share/squeezecenter/HTML/EN/html/softsqueeze/SoftSqueeze.jar
Here's the response:
Please wait.: Connecting to Slim Server.
Changing to the Sun implementation of Java seems to help somewhat; I
thank you for that suggestion. I can't use javaws because I'm running
Ubuntu 64-bit and Java Web Start services are only included in the
32-bit version.
Running the prior command, /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun/jre/bin/java
-Dserver=12
Thanks guys.
Looks like I have a small problem with my router stopping me from
testing this fully. I'll try it later.
Thanks again.

Are they being played back natively on the SB or are you using some kind of
transcoding, bitrate limiting etc.?

You too. Glad we could help.
I would expect that a small script could go through all your directories
and fix the names to be consistent, but I'm not a script guru.

Yes, windows is case insensitive.

are all the same file in Windows.
They are four different files in Linux/Unix.
Its a feature. Its not a bug

Its the same. The underlying cause and the result are the same.
But its not clear that its really a bug, its more of a feature.
And this is not the place to debate whether the Windows case

But I shall look and find out how to put the bug report into the right
place :)

Yeah,
problem solved, my extensions were written in small and capital
Example, thumb.jpg and thumb.JPG , those with capitals will not be
recognised
I also had "Thumb.jpg" which where also not recognised by
squeezeServer
I think it is a bug so I shall report it to the developers

I finally got the web user interface of squeezecenter 7.01 working using
the apache reverse proxy. For others, who have similar problems, I'll
post my solution here.
First, switch to the classic interface. (The default interface of 7.01
uses a lot a javascript with hard coded url's and apache doe
Don't forget tcp 9090 for cli (I think the SBC needs this) and tcp 9092
if you want client access to SC's mysql data. Finally, if you intend
to use Robin's UDAP code to configure a SBR, you'll need to open up udp
17784.

If you're using an AP then the SBC only communicates with the SC
instance. Ports 9000 and 3483 (tcp & udp) are the standards for all SC
stuff.

Hello all,
I solved the problem by installing a brand new OpenSUSE system 10.2.
Then I could install the SqueezeCenter without any problem.
For further updates I hope that I do not have to install a new
operating system in advance because SqueezeCenter is not the only
running application... ;-)
