just wanted to announce the new version of BrutefirDRC for SC7.4.
Checkout the plugins sourceforge page to download the new release
1.1.0! It is compatible with the upcoming version of SqueezeCenter 7.4,
because of the PCM support it does not work with any other version.

Does 1.1 work with SC 7.3 or does it require 7.4?
PCM stream? What does this mean? Does it mean I can redirect output to
multiple streams (crossover) or to another device (soundcard)

I successfully built and run/connected squeezeplay (from 7.4 trunk) on
my amd64 Ubuntu 8.10 machine running SC 7.3.2, seems like squeezeplay
is coming along nicely!
The problem is, it hangs when there are 10s remaining of a track. I
tried disabling crossfading etc, but it didn't help. Happened
Thanks to everyone for all the suggestions and help. I got Squeezebox
working with my old box running Ubuntu Server. I used the wiki to do
the installation last night and it was surprisingly easier than I

Did you pass the Bar?
What kind of memory does your system use? I have a bag of assorted old
memory, I might be able to send you a chip or two.

Hey Pat,
I won't know about the Bar for a few months. It was three days of
tests, essays and multiple choice questions, but I was studying for a

This has been reported as a bug to logitech, but evidently nothing has
been resolved yet. I don't have the official bug reference number, but
I found it pretty quickly the slim site when I searched with 10

get the SqueezeCenter browser to see the USB drive. I have checked
permissions and they seem o.k., but I'm not Linux geek, so I may have
missed some
Can you see the files from the GUI file browser? Do you know if the
external drive is FAT32 or NTFS?
You should be able to browse to /media and find the drive if it's
mounted correctly.
I will warn you that if the drive is not plugged in when you boot up
squeezecenter may have problems finding
Yes, the desktop and folders expose the drive and the files are
accessible. It is FAT32. It was connected and powered up before booting
the system. Browsing /media does not expose the drive.

Look at 'MusicOnLinuxUSBHardDrives' on the wiki. It may help. (Sorry
I can't post the whole URL quickly - when I did, my post got sent for
moderation! This seems to be an unhelpful new feature in the new forum
software.)
