If you are running make in ~/squeezeslave the binary appears in
~/squeezeslave/bin

I have just compiled and installed squeezeslave following the wiki at
http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/SqueezeSlave#Linux_build_instructions
onto my Linux Mint 12 laptop.
I didn't get any obvious errors but the wiki says the executable should
be in /bin
But in my case I find it in /pr
