I've been using an older image on a b+ happily. I have it connected to
my home theater via hdmi and the audio quality is good enough for my
ears.
I would like to turn the tv on and see what's playing - I think this was
a request from early on, and since it's hdmi out into my receiver, the

Nice. Now we're talking Klingon... ;)
I guess that's cryptic enough for most.

It's good new I guess, but I'm a bit worried about the increasing number
of models. Keeping them all supported with Sofware and Hardware add-on
modules, also with cases does not get easier this way.
Also, for something as simple as PiCorePlayer, even the Rpi B is
actually overpowered. As long as
Hopefully the Ethernet port is better separated from the USB bus.
But what's with the sudden release after the B+? Makes me want to
upgrade even if there is no real need too ...

You said 32/384, it already supports 24x192 doesn't it? Supporting the
next doubling of bit-rate/sample rate doesn't make it better at
supporting lower bit-rate/sample rates. As 24/192 is unnecessary unless
Hopefully about now, (well, today anyway), Greg and Steen will realise
why I was sending them cryptic emails a fortnight ago, suggesting that
if they aren't already looking at device tree and the 3.18 kernel
branch, they need to be supporting this, without being able to say
why.. ;)
ah well apparently not

Nope, the Ethernet port is still hooked up internally via USB.

I am using the IQAudio Pi-Dac+ with my Pi model B+ and have no issues
playing back hi-res 24/96 flac files using PiCorePlayer 1.18b (LMS
running on a Windows 7 PC). However I have been unable to play 24/196
files correctly. The files will play but the output sounds like a slow

Just noticed.
RPI 2 is out. ARMv7 now! 1GB Ram. 4 core. 900Mhz. Same low price.
Unfortunately they still kept that awful combined USB/ethernet chip.
Which is not really that good for running the RPI as server.
Layout is like RPI B+.
Idle wattage is even slightly lower the B+. It's 1,5W.
I
Quad core ARM, 1 GB RAM.
Announcement expected for later today. The best bit: same $35 price
point as the B+. Should be really nice for running LMS.
