While the script generally seems to work, one issue remains (as
discussed in PM).
There are two encoding passes
- the first doesn't encode characters it should (according to the
'specs' (https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc3986#section-2.2))
- the second (which is pointless to begin with) also

Yes the file name matters.
Your copy must be saved as /mnt/mmcblk0p2/tce/jivelite.sh
dos2unix is a command that gets
Thanks Jeff. I think it wold be a big plus for portable style players
similar to the Radio players.

Both. Sometimes its recognized, sometimes not, but always disconnects

I asked this in a pCP topic, but that may have been the wrong place. On
the Logitech controller you can select which available WiFi network you
want to use. By going in to the controller using SSH it appears the
controller firmware is very similar to Jivelite. Can Jivelite be
modified to allow

OK, This is the difference in our configurations: my screensaver is set
to "Switch off" when the pCP is switched off. Hence, I don't care about
the adaptive brightness control when pCP is not running.
But your wish of two stages of the adaptive brightness control can be
handled by the shell

probably depends. But I can report using directly connected USB drives
(powered only with the USB connection) on
Hello, jd68. Thank you for answer.
I think 337MB must be enough.
Script running. I'm sure. I checked it by deleting symbol # at showed
strings. Displayed numbers changes if I set the light near sensor.
I think touchscreen brightness must have two stages: one for turned off
PCP and another for

I dont think it is a power issue, I think it is more a problem of the
USB-SATA(or whatever) controller and the Pi 4. I had the same problem
with a USB-M.2 SATA controller. There has to be a
Might be worth checking on the official Raspberry Pi forum and finding a
USB3 thread there to ask.
There might be some quirks to set to get around a problem.
It might be a UAS issue.

It should not make a difference

What powere supply do you use for the pi and what usb drive ?
There are reports of USB3 and using wireless on the pi causing
difficulty for some people (apparently also on other OS, as

Ok, probably not the right place to this, but
I have a Pi4, and have attached a USB 3.0 hard drive that is powered by
the Pi
Now, all is working fine with 2.0 port, but if I plug the drive into the
3.0 port it will disconnect (or not mount at all)
Im fine with using the 2.0 port, but what

ok when i manually start jivelite after calibrating the touchscreen
works normally.
so somehow the reboot does not survive the saved data.
code: sudo SDL_VIDEODRIVER=fbcon SDL_FBDEV=/dev/fb0
TSLIB_TSDEVICE=/dev/input/event0 SDL_MOUSEDRV=TSLIB
/opt/jivelite/bin/jivelite
