The path I was thinking was Material Skin on a browser session on the
HDMI, then jivelite on the small screen.
What do I have to do to get material skin going on HDMI.
You'd have to install a web browser in pCP - which is not possible.

Thanks. I suspected ALSA. I did see the controls. I'll give it a look.
Likely, you need to setup the device volume control via alsamixer, there
is instructions on the card control page. That button is right where
you selected USB in the drop down.

I just installed the latest versions of PCP/LMS/SL on an RPI-4B. All
looks and seems to otherwise work great except that I can't adjust the
volume using the Squeezelite volume control slider. I can hear the very
low volume of music playing, but sliding the slider left and right
doesn't alter the

I have not used SAMBA ever, well I do recall something from the
Wollongong Group last century, so I don't know SAMBA

The more I think about it, Jivelite is probably not going to like

I think this tripped me up (was required) when building a 6.1 and I
hadn't seen it required on 4.0. I found somewhere on this forum

That sounds as if it may not work.

No problem
Two screens should not an issue, but if both screens are running
jivelite, there could be some problem. I was thinking jivelite only
running on one of the screens.
I've not seen it done yet, but if you move to pCP7, and install some
stuff from the piCore repo, we should be able to run a
That might be pretty cool for a Transporter type device. :-)

As long as jivelite is running on the same device squeezelite is
running, the vu meters will work.

By default NFS uses root.root so is tc a member of root?

Note a typo picked up from another thread on a problem setting up Samba.
In setting up Samba, the user followed the instructions and "cut and

In the section on mounting the USB drive the user typed it as

No, tc has a UID of 1001.

AFAIK the admin user of the Qnap is equivalent to root in UID terms -
isn't the tc user also equivalent
