Thanks kidstypike for the quick reply to my posting; you are correct in
your suspicion that I hadn't done the instal. I've now done that
additional step and managed to enter the details for the disk
Just jotting my notes down about getting my Peachtree Nova 150 v2
(purchased ~9/2019) to be the DAC for my living room setup.
(Former setup used my Slim Devices Transporter and S/PDIF to the Nova;
the Transporter is flaking out, so it's time to remove it.)

Not sure I understand. You have installed LMS in Debian in LXC
container. Then you installed squeezelite in the same debian on the same
container?
For a test you could install squeezelite on the host system with easy
access to sound hardware.
