Thank you all for the replies - they gave me the confidence to go for
it, but not before backing up the whole card, of course. ;)
I performed an 8.0.0 > 8.1.0 Insitu update on my 3 partition setup and
am happy to report that it worked without a hitch.
It appears that all my pCP settings survive

extra setup.

Hi folks
I've just upgraded my HiFi stack Pi to use a Pi Zero 2 W and the latest
piCorePlayer. The good news is that this works a treat on the while in
that I'm getting audio via HDMI and I can see JiveLite start as I get
the splash screen ... but thereafter the TV is blank.

I cannot find a solution to this anywhere else, if this has already been

Nothing is done to the third partition as a part of the update process.
But I've seen cards that are on their last legs crash during an
update...it's pretty rare though.
