I recently bought an Ocean Digital Internet radio - WR210N - in
anticipation of (finally) being able to travel again (one day!). It's a
nice piece of kit - reasonable sound - good battery life and eminently

just to confirm what Michael says - I too have been running LMS and
PiCorePlayer on the same SD cards for over 3 years with never a problem,
and what is more, when necessary, I just switch it off and on again to
reboot rather than trying to shut down gracefully.

I finally tracked the problem down - nothing to do with the Pi 3A+ -
nothing to do with piCorePlayer - it was ...
a corrupted SD card.
In desperation, I went back to step 1, downloaded a fresh copy of PcP
4.1 and wrote it to the SD card, but this time using Etcher.
Etcher told me there were ar

I have just bought one of the new Pi 3A+. Apart from the fact that it
needs a good 3amp power supply before it will even boot (?) it seems to
work.
I have downloaded and installed the latest Raspbian and set up Wi-Fi
successfully.
However when I try piCorePlayer 4.1, I am unable to set up Wi-Fi
.. might work after that.
If not, go into pcp web interface and reset the password.

Since the problem is manifesting on a Squeezebox Touch, and a Radio, I
have no access to change the buffering, so I have reverted to a Pi3B.
All works fine now, but the extra speed of the Pi3B+ really shows when
(re)scanning the library - about a 40% improvement over the Pi3B !

default screen is still set to JogglerSkin, which means that the display
on the TFT 3.5" screen is ... bad.

So the problem is possibly in several places :
1. the correct kernel drivers are not loaded - this is very unlikely
since it looks as if @paul_ has picked out all the relevant drivers.
2. the modprobe statements and / or the dtoverlay
I am pleased to say that @paul has indeed come up trumps - and that his
touchscreen tcz works perfectly with the waveshare 3.5" screen.
I have therefore amended my instructions to suit this much easier and
smoother way of doing things.

I am pleased to confirm that I have managed to get this all working for
piCorePlayer 3.20 and have modified and simplified the instructions.
One caveat, jivelite has been extensively re-modelled and now no longer
includes WQVGAsmallSkin, so I have retro-fitted it into my instructions

diagnostics all the right drivers are loaded and the USB key is
recognised - it just will not connect.

follow the guide - it includes a skin for jivelite that makes it look
just like a squeezebox touch player.
if you want something else, you are going to have to learn how to do it
yourself and not expect others to do it for you.

I have the screen showing all the system messages from picoreplayer, but
jivelite seems to send its output elsewhere - I am still trying to

Squeezelite + Jivelite + a cheapo generic remote control (£6 off xBay).

I believe that to use the new official screens you will need notro's
fbtft drivers which are included in the Raspbian kernel by default.
If these can be included in the PiCorePlayer build, then it opens the
door to all manner of small LCD TFT screens.

I am aware that the drivers are at staging for the 3.18 kernel, but I
don't think that they have been compiled into the tiny core linux
version you use.

while updating from 1.19l to 1.21 on the raspberry pi 2 works without
any problem, downloading the image, burning to SD with WinImager,
results in a kernel panic on boot.
