Do you have a WIFI network with AP roaming enabled?
This caused a bunch of problems with my RasPI based systems and I had to
turn it off.

Can you use something like InSSIDer (on Windows) to check the WiFi
channels in use in your vicinity: their strength and channel numbers?

Maybe! The quality and level did drop though.
Code:
Pos QualityLevel

Aren't the clever PCB-based antennae on Pis _orientation_sensitive_?
I got better WiFi reception with a Pi (Pi3 actually) VERTICAL, rather
than horizontal.

There is a [Diagnostics] button on the [Wifi Settings] page.
The diagnostics log is then available under [Main Page] > [Diagnostics]

Here is part of the log from my Raspberry Pi ZeroW (located 100mm from
wifi router).
Code:

Try swapping the two ZeroW locations to see if the problem is with the
specific ZeroW or with the location.

There have been a ton of LMS/squeezelite changes to address these types
of issues.
pCP 6 is currently listed as a Release Candidate, but its basically
final. At least final enough for you to put it in production.
piCorePlayer a small player for the Raspberry Pi in RAM.
Homepage: https://ww
You can check the 'hotfix' first and after see which upgrade version it
will allow.
Otherwise I would suggest a new image of v6.0.0.
Hotfix is on the main page of the pCP web gui, run that first then check
for pCP update

Having helped a few people with LMS and RPi with piCorePlayer, my BIL is
the only one having issues.
He is 200 miles away and helping him over TeamViewer is not ideal. I am
visiting this weekend, and would like to sort it out.
System
RPi 3b, running away LMS only, with local USB HDD for music.
Good to see you have it working.
For your future reference;
when installing LMS/Squeezelite on Raspbian I always follow these

I don't recall raspbian having a firewall enabled by default, but I
would suspect the server has not successfully started.
A) check the LMS log file (tail it)
B) check the port: fuser 9000/tcp

No idea why but I uninstalled logitechmediaserver_7.9.0_arm.deb, tired
unsuccessfully to install logitechmediaserver_7.9.0_all.deb (gave error)
then reinstalled logitechmediaserver_7.9.0_arm.deb and now it is all
working.
