I've finally fixed all my problems and got a working configuration at
very long last. I have simply swapped my DG834Gv1 router I was using
for a slightly more up-to-date DG834PN router. The new router doesn't
provide any better signal or data throughput but does appear to work.

That sounds like it may be a problem with the po
Something else to throw into the mix, the SC 7.1 server on my Fedora 9
install seems to function perfectly with either streaming or
softsqueeze.

I think the error message is misleading as I can't find anything wrong
with the access to the files at all. There's no SELinux or AppArmour
and just to fully mitigate the problem while testing I've set
permission to 777. The scanner has absolutely no problem in seeing

Throughout all my testing, my laptop running SC 7.1 has always worked

After failing to update to SC 7.2 on Fedora 8, I've moved back over to
my Fedora 9 box which is running SC 7.1. The controller copies an
update, presumably to downgrade from the 7.2 version to 7.1 again.
Once the Receiver and controller are both happy again with their
respective updates I'm able
While debugging I've tried switching over to Fedora 8 which shows the
same problems I've been having with the other configs I've tried so I
attempted to upgrade to SC 7.2 but the firmware update would not
apply.
The firmware update appears to get stuck in an infinite loop.

Thanks, it's good to know the config should work in theory, very
reassuring.

Same with me, it was apt-get and joy, except for some of the wilder
builds I've been beta testing.

Just to throw my 2c into the pot, I'm running an Ubuntu 8.4 headless
server and SC7.2 installed perfectly via apt-get, except for the
apparmour issue which is fairly easy to work around. Default perl,
mysql, etc.

My SqueezeCenter is running on Debian Etch (32 bit) and has been happy
for ages.
The perl on it is 5.8. Works great. I would not recommend changing it.
On other machines, I've tried to get perl 5.

Lots of folks run SqueezeCenter on one of the currently big distros
such as Fedora, Suse, Debian, Ubuntu. In addition there are also a
whole bunch of various NAS'es (which are usually based on some minimal
Linux installation).
I recently installed squeezecenter 7.1 on an ubuntu hardy heron server
installation and it went without a hitch. Fired up the duet and it
found the network, the server, and the receiver. We were listening to

Hi all,
I'm having an absolute nightmare trying to get my Duet connecting to
SqueezeCenter on Linux. I've tried various combinations of Ubuntu,
Fedora and SqueezeCenter 7.0, 7.0.1, 7.1, 7.2 and even 7.3. So far, the
only working config I've managed to get is with Redhat Enterprise
