For all those looking for a way to prevent their Squeezecenter s7.x from going into standby whilst players are running I have cooked-up half a solution. The trick is to call the inhibit / unhibit methods in the gnome-power-manager. Unfortunately this solution only supports machines that run Gnome.

I seem to be up and running with Ubuntu 7.10 and SC7. My player can select songs and play but sometimes it reverts to circular menus. I can use Moose to show the songs but I can not use play from Moose. It is ignored. My symptoms are; 1. can not access SC7 with the web interface localhost:9000 -

I use also Ubuntu 7.10 with Squeezecenter from the unstable repository (deb http://debian.slimdevices.com unstable main ) and everything works fine atm, but I also did have problems after some updates and manual fiddling from my side. My error was to manually erase/move some files installed via ad

I have installed the debian package - Jan 13/14 build on Ubuntu 7.10 and everything seems ok. I started it using: sudo /etc/init.d/squeezecenter/ start it says starting and no error message. In firefox with localhost:/9000 it just says waiting. The player recognizes the server but the menus are ci
