I did said:
windows-preferences-plugindeveloptment-targetplatform->plugins
There i see the shale plugin.
Opening this plugin thing does not result in any message at the
"ErrorLog"View - i mean the same view like you.
Changing the perspective to "plugindevelopment" does also not result in
any mess
Wheter i unzip it like you told, or using the jar file like Hermod said
- i cant get it working - seems i got a mysterious eclipse build.
Its a eclipse 3.2.1 - linux variant. Installed all other plugins from
scratch, does not help either :-(
Any other ideas i can try?

Am Sonntag, den 27.
Yes, you must unzip in plugin directory. When I downloaded from
Hermod's site the url said .jar but the actual file was .zip. Either
one will work, though it should be zip.
However, I just checked and the way the jar is built you will need to
actually create a directory inside plugins first.

Its a jar file.
I copied the jar in the plugin directory - must i unzip the jar there?
Yes, Graphical Editing Framework GEF and Xerxes are there, installed
through the eclipse manager and up to date.

Hi Torsten,
I just took a quick look at Hermod's packaging of the plugin and it
looks good. How are you installing that plugin in eclipse? I believe
you should be unzipping it under the plugins directory, not simply
copying the zip file there.
Also, have you installed gef and the xerces parser
Ok got these packages from JDT Apt.
All required plugins are there - still no success :(

Hm - last try, i've taken a look at the manifest and diffed line per
line of plugins needed, i've got all except of those 2:
org.eclipse.jdt.apt.core,
org.eclipse.jdt.apt.ui
These 2 plugins does not show in my plugin list - wonder why eclipse
does not tell that.
Anyone knows to which package
