Spielman's "JSTL Practical Guide for JSP Programmers" (Morgan Kaufmann)
is exactly what you are looking for if you also use JSTL tags. It's 200
pages, example-based and 20 bucks.

that you open the .tld and have a read through it. Most tag properties
(especially in the Struts HTML tags) are quite clear from their labels.
