I can't seem to begin new threads, so I will have to ask some new
questions in old threads.
Here is one. I would like to view different channels (like
"Reflection") in the viewport. Can this be done? I have tried several
ways but I can't seem to get anything but the standard render.

Thanks. This time it worked, but I swear that I tried all kinds of
finger dance combinations, including the one you described here and
the results always seemed to have some offset distance to them.

i'm sorry if I upset people with my criticism of RS. I don't mean to

Just got back to RS after a couple weeks away. Still having problems

I decided after making the surface that i wanted to snap the two

I'm not talking about Maxon's (Cinema 4D) tech support. I'm sure that

Hi!
Thumbs up and keep trying! After some 5 years with Realsoft I couldn't
use any other 3D software anymore. The object/material hierarchy is
probably the best invention since sliced bread (I'm not sure if other
3D programs use the same kind of interface).

I really like Cinema 4D. Back about 5 years ago I was teaching at a
community college (part-time) and was looking for a better program to

Thanks everyone. And thanks for clearifying the snapping issue. I
didn't understand I had to drag a box around the target points. I
guess when the first item tracked the cursor I expected it to snap to
where I dragged it like so many other graphics programs do.

Hi Henry,
Snapping is quite easy.
Let's say you've got two cubes and you want to create a third between them.
-Activate cube
-Drag a box around a corner of the first cube (in a parallel view like top,
front or side).
-Adjust height with scroll wheel.
-Drag a box around a corner of
