Hi,
I'm trying to explore how to make systemvms more robust and
fault-tolerant, and the manual/automated QA of systemvms. One of the
common user facing issues related to scalability was the reset
password/key servers where the VR serves data using socat etc using
forking mechanisms and global loc
Anyone help?

Hi Erik,
I believe HA should also work with Pre-setup storage as HA requires a
shared storage and a support from Hypervisor.
I have seen this working for an early version of CloudStack long time back
and I hope things havent changed for this functionality in teh latest
releases.
Thanks,

Hi Rob and Adrian,
I was the one doing the demo on the Europe User Group Meetup. We are now in the
test phase of the rVPC work. The idea is that it will be merged towards the
master branch in 2 weeks from now. So, our goal is 4.6!
Our test branch can be found here:

But I could able to mount the volume manually to that xenserver with same
options.
Thanks,

Hi Keerthi,
Firstly has the host been added into the XenServer Cluster and had all the
appropriate IPs added, especially for things like Storage etc. The act of
adding into the Pool will auto configure all the Network Names and Bonds, but
you still need to add any extra IP Addresses.

Hi Ugo,
If you configure a Host to be a HA Host, it does not get used for normal VMs
and will remain empty until a HA event occurs.

HI Ugo,
Unfortunately we still continue to run into this problem on a regular basis.
I've had some success increasing the RAM & CPU allocations to the VR,
especially where I was starting a large number of VMs which were all requesting
new Passwords from the VR and causing it to lock up.

Hi all,
I read that in the CloudStack system is possible to dedicate an host to
restart the vm with flag HA
active(http://cloudstack-administration.readthedocs.org/en/4.3/reliability.html#dedicated-ha-hosts).
I would understand if this type of host is still used for new vm or is

Hi Geoff,
we continue to find the problem on networks in a (seemingly) random.
The only solution is to do the cleaning of the network by hand, but it
is not a good method, because it is not automatic and freeze for a
moment all hosts on the network.
I would understand if this problem is relat
Looking at
http://cloudstack-administration.readthedocs.org/en/latest/reliability.html#ha-enabled-virtual-machines
it says that HA works with iSCSI and NFS.
Does anyone know if it works with pre-setup storage (on XenServer). The
actual storage in this case would be FC SAN.

cloud-config is supported via config drive in CoreOS [1]. Are there any
usecases for cloudstack if config drive is supported as an alternative to VR
providing userdata/metadata? It could be a generic implementation not specific
to CoreOS.

Here is when we've seen this and how we addressed it:
1) stop the VM and CloudStack and note down the instance id of the VM,
i.e. if its something like i-34-987-VM, 987 is instance_id
2) backup your mysql db
3) delete eveything with your instance id in cloud.op_ha_work table
