I tested it by bumping it up to
MAVEN_OPTS="-Xmx256m"
export MAVEN_OPTS
I've got 4Gigs of RAM and will go through some testing to find the best
RAM performance metric.
I noticed via top that once physical ram allocated to java reached

when you're at the C:\>java -version
does this return back the version or is their a console error?
Suggestion: Update to jdk1.5.0_11

To avoid space issues I'd create a separate Java folder under C:\>Java

but I don't see a repository of Documentation that one can funnel that
provides these practical/best practices, hands-on tutorials that were

Count me in for Java 5. I've got some concerns with Maven on Debian not
having Maven 2 in its Unstable branch but I'll get over that one.
On OS X Java 5 has been standard for quite sometime. Working with Java
5 for WebObjects or Cocoon2.2 solely would be nice. Java 6 previews are

To clarify seeing as I used to support WOF at NeXT and Apple.
WebObjects lost its elegance when it switched from Objective-C to Java.
How so? The fact it used to be based on Openstep and later if it had
been maintained with Apple only platform, Cocoa, then it could leverage

Works fine in Safari 2.0 (412).
I would suggest that you scale your width down so that a screen with

The clue is here:

Now let me see if I read this correctly.
You have Tiger SDK 1.5 installed and when attempting to compile against
Cocoon 2.1.6 you get compiles errors that amount to the following:
javac: target release 1.3 conflicts with default source release 1.5
Solution: Edit init-build.xml
init-build.xml un
As most have discovered by now BASH has a .bashrc file.
What OS X does not include, by default, is a .profile.

As in my case with Debian Linux:
Here is my .bashrc
# ~/.bashrc: executed by bash(1) for non-login shells.

Jerry,
Nice to see a fellow Coug using OS X. What Cocoon is looking for,
regarding the JAVA_HOME is a path to the bin/ directory that the java,
javac, javah, etc.. executables reside.

As mentioned by another developer look under /usr
I like your suggestion best. Elegant and self-containing.

DTDs allow for either SYSTEM or PUBLIC.
Declare your DTDs as type SYSTEM and you can always archive a local
copy of current W3C DTD's via your Apache web server at a path you
make.
