Acutes in text

Hello All, I made a newser on my site. There are an xsp which is querying actual news from a Postgresql server. There are some acutes in news text, which is breaking the process. (á ö etc.) I tried to in my xsl, but it doesn´t helps. how can I convert it in my xsl, or omit error? -- thx,
