Hi there, since M2, there is no server.xml file anymore, right? So, I tried to add a custom partition via Directory Studio under the ou=partitions,ads-directoryServiceId=default,ou=config entry, right where I could also find the example partition. Unfortunately the server would not start

there are several places that you need to modify for adding a new partition. The best is to copy an existing partition and save it with a different name (all using Studio only) and finally adding the new partition's name to the ads-partitions attribute in the entry
