Since I upgraded to LO 5.0.1, I've noticed that the Writer seems to
lose the recent documents list at random.
This morning I edited a document and it had all the ones I've worked
on recently in the list. An hour later, it had only three, none of
which were the one I'd worked on and most of the on
Did not know that. Thanks!

Brian,
Well, I tried that. The problem was all the marks and words I made on
the monitor (crib notes) - they ruined my monitor :-)) .
Actually, that is the point. I tend to write things in the margins to
clarify a point, or an example, etc. Tough to do that with the PDF
version.

Why print them? Do you have access to a computer? If so, you can
search the documentation and read it on your display!

AndrOffice works off line. However, your friend should test it before
he goes. Also, while it works on a tablet, I'd hate to use it on a phone.

Does anyone know when the LO 5 documentation will be available? If not,
or if it may be awhile, would it be worth going to the bother of

There is also Eurooffice, which is free for Android and can be
downloaded from GooglePlay. It has also (non-free) versions for Windows

Why not take one of the free or inexpensive purpose built exchange rate apps
for Android? Some of them will download updated exchange rate data when
connections are available and all the ones I looked at briefly allow you to run
the conversions offline.
I think that would be a much better opti
The app (WPS) is also designed to be as similar to MS office as possible. WPS
stands for Writer, Presentation, Spreadsheet.
Going off topic, do NOT try installing the Windows version of WPS on the same
Windows computer with LO. It does not play well with LO.

Hi Tom and all:
I've used AndrOffice in my tablet. It has improved step by step. Now I
think it is, in general, stable for general perfomance that I've used
it. It has digital mouse and other special things.
Another program that I've used is WPS (Kingsoft Office) but I think it

Hi :)
Thanks all :) So it sounds like AndrOffice and Kingsoft are worth trying.
I had thought about making my exchange-rate spreadsheet into a database.
I'm sure it would be far better, and would allow a purpose-built UI
front-end but the spreadsheet route is plenty good enough for this trip.

As you probably know the Indian Government is making a strong push to free
themselves from the vendor lock-ins created by using non-OpenSource
products.
So, it is possible there may even be funding to help with this sort of
thing or there may well be some organisation, or conglomeration of

AndrOpenffice is a huge download, but is usable offline. It is also
rather clunky, and not really optimized for use with a touch screen, as

My opinion is that renaming a folder (directory) is much safer than removing

Hi :)
Stephan Bergman's answer is a more precise and elegant version of the

sub-sub-folder within the User Profile.
So, if you have already tried renaming/resetting the User Profile then you
have already done this. If you haven't
