Another update. First off, in response to Jean-Francois, I checked, and there
are no special characters in the share name or server name.
I also have some more test results. Using two computers (Old Toshiba
Satellite, and desktop) I ran the Live cd for both Ubuntu 10.10 (has OOo),

1) I just checked the Package Manager for LO, I went to the status button,
scrolled down to the LO packages, and everything looked ok. The
Libreoffice-filter-mobiledev and Libreoffice-report-builder-bin did not
have the package
Steve, you are correct, the LO 3.3.2 does not work well with my network drive
on Ubuntu 11.04. I have tried to install OOo on this machine through the
Software center, but it always installs LO instead (even after removing LO),
so I have not been able to test if there is a difference between OOo
