I want to use my mobile phone (Nokia 6310) to dial into my Linux box so I
can access some of my web pages.
I have downloaded and compiled the latest Kannel on my RH8 box, and is
running both bearbox and wapbox using the default wapkannel.conf.

Did you ever got your installing problem solved for
kannel.
I get exact the same error message as you did, when
i execute:
rpm -ivh
kannel-latest-version.i386.rpm
>libcrypto.so.0.9.6 is needed>libssl.so.0.9.6 is needed
When i do:
rpm -q openssl
i get:
I would suggest to download the source and compile it from scratch - this
worked fine for me (SUSE 7.3 and 8.0). Dont forget to download the latest
version of libxml and compile it before you compile kannel.

thanks for that suggestion, but i forgot to mention
that i tried that as well.
It's seems that other people tried the same things i
did and ran into the similar problems.
In my case when i try to compile it with the default
configuration i run into errors suggesting me to get a
