I'm now using AT2 and modemtype = auto and everything seems to be OK.
Thanks everyone for your help.

Hi all,
I'm trying to send an SMS message to my Kannel server that uses a Siemens
TC35 modem.
The message does not seem to be received but if I take the SIM card out and
put it in a phone I then get the message.
The initialisation log is as follows:
INFO: Kannel bearerbox II version 1.1.6 start
Which is likely to be more reliable a mobile phone or a GSM modem as a SMSC.
I have had Kannel working well with a Nokia phone as SMSC until a power cut
screwed things up. Assuming I get the system back working again is it worth
me replacing the phone with a GSM modem for long term reliability or
I have the same problem with a Nokia 6210. The system was working perfectly
until a power cut. When the power was restored I see the results as below. I
don't think the cable is the answer.

I am using Redhat 7.2 with version 1.1.6 and a Nokia 6210 as SMSC.
If I start bearerbox then smsbox and send it a message I get the following
error message in the bearerbox log and the message is not sent.
Does anyone know what this means and what I might do to rectify the problem?
End of startu
Use "configure --disable-docs". I have the same system and that cured it for
me. You'll have to download the docs separately.

Subject: cannot compile gateway 1.1.6
Hi,
I have
I am trying to build Kannel 1.1.6 on a Redhat 7.2 box.
All goes well until I enter 'make' which ends with an error as follows:
echo Check `dirname doc/arch/arch.xml`/`basename doc/arch/arch`.log for
errors
Check doc/arch/arch.log for errors
cd `dirname doc/arch/arch.xml` && jadetex `basename doc
I see that phone-as-SMSC is supported in Kannel but
I can't find any documentation as to how to set it up.
I am trying to use a Nokia 6210 as SMSC with version 1.0.3
but I'm going nowhere fast. Can anyone point me to some
suitable documentation / examples PLEASE!
Kenn Martin
