This is the same question that you asked me directly, off list, and
the answer will still be the same :-)
On the SMSC that you want to receive only, set the allowed-smsc-id to
be something other than the smsc-id that you specify when submitting

I am using kannel with an smpp smsc. Now when the smsc is sending me
submit_sm_resp, it sends the message_id as "S375". However when the
deliver_sm is being send, it only sends back "375". This way kannel is
not able to register the message delivery since both message ids don't
match. I checked

Seems like a problem with startup script.
Look at your script for this path.

I'm attempting to create a flat file for upstream processing and notify the
SMS sender that the text has been received. the sms-service config is as
follows:
group = sms-service
keyword = SUB
text = "Thank you for subscribing - your request is being processed"
exec = /usr/local/bin/imomgen %q
Hi Abraham,
Define only the "exec=" action in your configuration and print the
text from within your executable.

Rodrigo.

Seems like the permissions for /dev/ttyUSB0 are wrong for your user.
Fix the permissions and it should be ok.
Hope it helps,

You can always make "chmod 666" to your device, but that's not a good
idea securutywise speaking, since your device will be readable and
writeable by _anybody_.
The best approach IMHO is to create a group "modem" for example, make
your user part of that group and then (as root):
chown root.modem

Hi,
Has anyone tried this combination for DLR storage?
Kannel + LibSDB + Oracle 10g + Solaris
I have run the same combination working on Linux with no problems. But when I
tried it on Solaris all database queries failed.
Any hints would be great appreciated.

Hi Allison
I created the folders /var/run/kannel and there is no errors.
When I start kannel, these are the output
Stopping WAP gateway: smsbox wapbox bearerbox.
Starting WAP gateway: bearerbox wapbox smsbox.
Does the info above tells me that the SMS gateway is also started too,
(smsbox)?
