Unfortunately, this didn't work for me on 5.2.1...
Any other hints you might have?

ure --with-cflags='-pthread' --with-libs='-lc_r -lkse' --disable-docs
--disable-wap --disable-ssl --with-mysql --with-mysql-dir=/usr/local
works for me. You can do this without the patch, and it compiles 1.3.2 cleanly.

given patch will not work without the above --with-libs.
So, if you're using gateway-1.3.2, you'll have to do configure
--with-cflags='-pthread' --with-libs='-lc_r -lkse'.
If you're using CVS after Stipe's commit, then you won't need to.

Anybody else who's using FreeBSD have similar experiences? (I'm using kannel 1.3.2 on
FreeBSD 5.2.1, and it seems the -d flag does not work: I find "exited on signal 11" in
the system log for both bearerbox and smsbox.)
I could send my start script itself to individuals, but I di

I don't know if this is something I should be worrying about.

Are you using 1.3.2? (I know from other posts, that you're using FreeBSD.)

This is a much more reasonable request.
