Try ${project.build.directory}.

Subject: [m2] variable for ${basedir}/target ?
Hi!
Does any variable exist for ${basedir}/target
and a variable for the main resource directory?

Does there exist a list over variable expressions in maven2 poms?

You can get most (all?) element values from the pom in the form of
parameters, nesting by dot notation.
for example:
project
build
directoryVALUE/directory
is ${project.build.directory}
etc.
If you want to play with viewing the value of any parameter, try the ant
plugin:
build
