OpenOffice.org sees output to a printing device as changing the
original document. It gives the option to save a previously saved file
after output sent. When will this be updated?

You obviously have too many active dictionaries. Comment out the unnecessary
in, I believe, ~/.rhopenoffice/share/dict/ooo/dictionary.lst.
I had similar symptoms on an FC3 machine, but in my case OOo just hung for
about 10 min. and never crashed.

That's it Jonathan.
Fixed field length is evidently used very rarely, hence not
not a lot of effort in supporting it.
Each row of the import file is 884 characters, comprising 82 columns.
Bringing it into Calc consists of setting each of the 82 column
dividers manually.

There is a very good document on the oooauthors.org site that should really
help you.

I *think* this really is from /tmp getting filled up. try cleaning out the temp
directory (should be /tmp). make sure you get rid of any sub-dirs that might be
in there. You might want to do a fsck (on all drives) though maybe a good
reboot might also be in order after cleaning out /tmp.
I don't
actually it's summarised in the last line - out of memory.
i don't feel brave enough to determine your ram size from this output -
how much ram does that box have ?
are you running a lot of processes there ? if not, then something is
memleaking and when memory is full, next process that requests
