I have had luck only with a Mysql database.
But there is an option in base to use a spreadsheet for data source.
I'm sure someone here can point you towards a proper tutorial.

Hope someone can help me understand why I only get one page of Avery
5162 labels for 36 rows of data. When trying to print this there should
be a minimum of 3 pages at 14 per page.
I selected all 36 rows and used data to fields.
Any help would be appreciated
