Am agreed with Gene Young: keep OO. Whether or not you keep, move your
work into a folder tree of your own making. Is easier to track, back
and preserve from inadvertant uninstalls. Search your drives by file
suffix, for example, *.odf. That is a corollary issue, however.

If you are describing a tabula rosa, set the tabs for the first line.
They should transfer to all subsequently created lines.
If not so rosa, highlight the entire document, Ctrl-a if I remember
correctly. Set your tabs, which all highlighted lines will take.

It's not pristine, but it's invisible to naked eye. Or put anything in

stuff. While you're tinkering there, note where presently they're
configured to save downloads. Good bet your lost file will be parked
there now.
