Officially no, OOo won't be killed, and at present it's email lists have
moved to the apache hosted project. Unfortunately I do feel that it may
well be in mortal decline, largely due to Oracle's attitude whe they
took over SUn, and hence stewardship of OOo. The Libreoffice fork of OOo

Before it can even work on a tablet, they have to remove the needless
restriction on screen size,as it doesn't work properley on 1024x600
screens, 3.2 works fine, but not 3.3

Whatever the change has been, forms that do work will load slowly, very,
very slowly in some cases, you will also notice your CPU hit 100% for
, and use OOBase, as the medium
with which to do this.
I apreciate that Open Offiec 2 is still beta, but I hope the
functionality I 've spoken of will be available in the final production
release, I'm sure this functioanlity would be very popular.
