I have Microsoft Woks, vs 8. OpenOffice will open the spreadsheets (.wks), but
not the text documents (.wps). I do not have MS Word. There must be a lot of us
that have this problem.

I don't believe that OOo can open WPS files. You can either 'save as' a .doc
(which OOo can open) - or ther

Since you still have Works, try saving your files in Word (.DOC) format.
