I have used openoffice for a while, and very good it is too.
On 2nd July, ' a new version is available' appeared in the top
right hand corner of the screen, and so I clicked it,
downloaded the exe, and the process started.
Then an error message Error: 1714, the file you want is on a

If your 1714 error is an MS Error Code 1714 it means: No protocol sequences
have been registered.
Did you remove the files from your computer or did you uninstall it? You may
have some Oo info hanging around in your registry.

I assume this is a catch-all message for some install file processing
error. Can the actual install steps be logged and reviewed so I can spot

Windows to have some problem like that.
In rought way (very very not recomended), Usually I try to delete the
program manualy from Program Files directory and take care the registry by
using regedit (find delete

I have in this moment the 2.0 version and it´s imposible unistall them. I use
XP windows
If I install the 2.0.1 version , say error 1714 during the installation and
stop and cancel the process
Please help to solve this problem
