Really! So just learn the key mapping, press and go,
I don't expect to find a dictionary that can interpret where a
special character is needed, but would like a quick way while I'm
typing to add these characters.

I installed Open Office 2.3 and added a Spanish language dictionary, which
seems to be working fine. However, when writing text in Spanish it's
agonizingly slow to individually add common special characters (for example: ¿
é á ó ú ñ) using the special characters menu. The dictionary
