someone else compiled the sdk with a newer version of java royale-asjs.
the version i am using is from build 446 of moonshine. but it is the same
version for openjdk as the stable build.
the version number i am referring to is 1.8.0u201 there is a newer version java
out then 5.2 which is referr
You don't necessarily have to build on your own SDK. If you in Moonshine to
menu Help -> Getting Started and click on button "Download Third-Party
Software" - Moonshine SDK Installer should launch.
It allows you to download:
- Java OpenJDK 17
- Apache Royale 0.9.9 released
- Apache Royale 0.9.11 -
java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError:
org/apache/royale/compiler/clients/MXMLJSC has been compiled by a more recent
version of the Java Runtime (class file version 55.0), this version of the Java
Runtime only recognizes class file versions up to 52.0

Hi Jim,
To be clear, there is no subscription required by Moonshine or Royale to
use any JDK version. Moonshine, Royale, and OpenJDK are all free and open
source. If you upgrade your JDK, it will fix this error.
The current 0.9.10 release of Royale requires JDK 8 minimum. And the
nightly Royale 0

In moonlight ide version 3.3.4 build 1511 it is not recognizing default sdk and
apache royale sdk and says "fix this" in the help menu. It recognizes things
like ant maven etc. but not those 2. So the sdk installer has an older jdkjre.

I needed a newer jdk installed from oracle.
I didnt know i could pick a newer one from outside the sdk installer.
They only had the 1.8.0 series.
So sorry about my tunnel vision.
I am back up and running now with everything working better than before.

Im playing with apache royale again and after the ai showed me how to disect
and Object:Object which is an object of objects then i could get at my data.
