I am relativity new to SOGo and am setting this up in combination with a Debian
(stable/squeeze) Samba server with Postfix and
Dovecot.
I have a Samba (3.5.6) PDC using smbldap-tools and OpenLDAP. The users seem to
work fine and I have a SOGo installation that is

It turns out the "bindFields" property is exactly what I needed. Having set up
this to use both "sAMAccountname" and "mail" Both formats now work from
thunderbird.

Recently I have decided to try out SOGo mainly for my family's calendaring
needs. I have encountered a few difficulties over the last few days, please
forgive me in case I hame too ignorant.
The first thing I have noticed is that The interface does not accept mail
addresses that start with a '_'.

I've got some new information.
In fact, the problem is not about the login or email address, but, it's
that the object user does not exist, and Thunderbird is not able to make
SOGo creating this object. I hope this may help a bit more
