Hi,
I have deployed Tomcat 5.5.15 with JVM 1.5.0_06-b05 on RHEL4.0ES in
production environment.
It has been load tested for 1500 concurrent sessions after which it
goes out of memory.
Cheers,

Sounds like you may have a JRE instead of a JDK.

cd $JAVA_HOME
find -iname javac
You should see one listed as './bin/javac' after running that second command.

My webapps needs to access the javac compiler classes from tools.jar.
This appears to work on dev environment on Windows, but it doesn't
in a deployment environment:
Solaris 9
JDK 1.5.0_06
The app hits a java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.sun.tools.javac.Main

I think nested inside in web.xml is what you
need.

Hi all,
Maybe the solution to the problems with bad posts can be solved by an
email once a month that describes exactly what the accepted posting
policy is. I realize these are already known by many and are covered in
this thread but spelling it out each month cant hurt.

Hi,
How can I configure Tomcat to call init() of Servlet as part of
Tomcat's initialization?
right now, the init() of a Servlet is called when the servlet is
called the first time (e.g. thru a HTTP request from a browser)?
How can I config tomcat to call the init() of a servlet as part of
Tomcat's
I am the author of the open source JAMon (Java application monitor). Is a

is this email list the only place to ask such questions? Doesn't tomcat
have a user forum?
JAMon comes with a servlet filter that monitors access
Are you using a specific tomcat base? if so, then the JARs need to be in the
shared/lib for that base. Also, make sure those JARs are not in the
$tomcat_home/common/lib folder.

no, at least not, if you don't track all session yourself.
Why do you need the session?

I run into the same thing, with my mail sent from a java class: if the
mail.jar and activation.jar are in the shared/lib directory, it won't
pick them up, but in web-inf/lib it will.

This information is easily obtained from the Tomcat web site. There
really is no good reason why you couldn't find this yourself.
It would also have helped if you

Yes, not a nice feature change: -:( But the deployment system at
tomcat 5.5 has changed a lot, and I switch to easier way to get
FarmWarDeployer up and running (Tomcat 5.5.5 Release 12/04).
Last year nobody of the community ask for the separate depoyDir
feature and so this was not at my top p
